ごちそう (gochisō) is a Japanese word that means “feast” or “banquet.” It is often used to express gratitude to someone for a meal or to say “enjoy your meal” before a meal is served.

Examples:

  1. ごちそうさま でした! It was a feast!  
  2. この間はごちそうさまでした。 Thank you for the meal the other day.  
  3. 今日の夕食は私がごちそうします。 I’ll treat you to dinner tonight.

  8. 夕食はよそでごちそうになりました。 I was treated to dinner out.  
  9. テーブルの上にごちそうが並んでいる。 There are some delicious treats lined up on the table.  
  10. ごちそうさまでした。おいしかったです。 Thank you for the meal. It was delicious.
