Japanese Meaning of 君 (kimi) | JLPT N4

It is essential to learn Japanese vocabulary when studying the language. In addition to words borrowed from other languages, Japanese vocabulary is vast and diverse. Japanese Vocabulary: 

Meaning: 

きみ (kimi) is another way of saying “you” in Japanese, It is often used when addressing someone close to the speaker, such as a friend or family member, more informally or casually.

Here are five examples of sentences using 君:

  1. 君のことが大好きです。I really like you.
  2. 君に会えて本当に嬉しいです。 I’m really happy to see you.
  3. 君と一緒にいると幸せです。 I’m happy when I’m with you.
  4. 君のことを信じています。 I believe in you.”
  5. 君に会いたいです。 I want to see you.

It is important to note that きみ is considered to be more informal and less respectful. so it is not appropriate to use with older people or of higher status. It is also not suitable for formal or business situations.
