Japanese Meaning of 咲く (saku) | JLPT N5

Meaning: The buds of a flower open

Examples:

  1. 春に咲く花 spring flowers  
  2. 春には桜が咲く。 In spring, the cherry blossoms bloom.  
  3. 桜は毎年今頃咲く。 The cherry trees bloom around this time of year.  
  4. 入学式の頃、桜が咲く。 By the time of the school entrance ceremony, the cherry blossoms will come into bloom.  
  5. 春はいっぺんに花が咲く。 Flowers bloom all at once in spring.  
  6. この公園には様々な花が咲く。 Many different flowers bloom in this park.  
  7. 桜の花の咲く季節が来ました。 The cherry blossom season has come.  
  8. 梅の花が咲く季節がやって来ます。 Plum blossom season is coming.  
  9. バラが咲くには、光、水、肥料が必要です。 It takes light, water and fertilizer to make the roses bloom.
