Japanese Meaning of 次 (tsugi) | JLPT N5

Japanese Vocabulary: 次 (tsugi)

Meaning: ”next” or “following”

Sequences and orders are commonly indicated by it.

Examples:

  1. 次の駅で降ります。 I get off at the next station.  
  2. 次の駅は大阪です。 The next station is Osaka.  
  3. 次の駅は新宿です。 The next station is Shinjuku.  
  4. 次の駅は通過します。 This train will skip the next station.  
  5. 次女は母に似ている。 The second-oldest daughter in our family resembles our mother.  
  6. 次のバス停で降ります。 I’ll get off at the next bus stop.  
  7. 次の会議は十八日です。 We’ll have the next meeting on the eighteenth.  
  8. 次の停車駅は品川です。 The next stop is Shinagawa.  
  9. 次の文を翻訳しなさい。 Translate the following sentence.  
  10. 次の駅で乗り換えです。 I’m transfering at the next station.  
  11. 次はあなたの番ですよ。 Next is your turn.
