Japanese Vocabulary:薄い

Meaning:”thin”

It can be used to describe objects, such as paper or ice, that are physically thin, or it can be used to describe something that is not very strong or not very concentrated, such as a weak solution or a faint color. 

It can also be used to describe a person or a group of people who are not very powerful or influential.

 For example:

  1. この紙は薄いです。This paper is thin.
  2. 彼女は薄い髪をしている。She has thin hair.
  3. 彼は薄い本を読んでいる。He is reading a thin book.
  4. 彼女は薄いジャケットを着ている。She is wearing a thin jacket.
  5. このクリームは薄いです。This cream is thin.
  6. 彼は薄い声で話している。 He is speaking in a thin voice.
  7. このカップは薄いです。This cup is thin.
  8. 彼女は薄い靴下を履いている。She is wearing thin socks.
  9. このアイスは薄いです。This ice is thin.
  10. 彼は薄い顔をしている。He has a thin face.
