Japanese Meaning of どんどん (dondon) | JLPT N4

Meaning: 

1. rapidly

2. steadily

Things are moving forward one by one. It happens gradually.

Examples:

  1. 川がどんどん広くなる。 The river will gradually get wider.  
  2. 音がどんどん大きくなる。 The sound will get louder and louder.  
  3. ドアをどんどんとたたいた。 I banged on the door.  
  4. どんどん問題を解いていく。 I solve the questions one after the other.  
  5. 子供はどんどん大きくなる。 Children grow very quickly.  
  6. 彼女がどんどん綺麗になる。 She will progressively get prettier.  
  7. 日本の人口がどんどん減る。 The Japanese population will steadily decrease.  
  8. 技術はどんどん発達している。 Technology is developing quite fast.  
  9. 景気がどんどん悪化している。 The economy grows worse and worse.  
  10. 景色がどんどん変わって行く。 The scenery rapidly went changing.  
  11. 留学生がどんどん増えています。 The number of exchange students is steadily increasing.
