Japanese Meaning of 約束 (yakusoku) | JLPT N4

Japanese Vocabulary: 約束 (yakusoku)

Meaning:  promise or appointment.

Examples:

  1. 彼は約束を守る人です。 He’s one to keep his promise.  
  2. 約束の時間を変えます。 I will change the time of the appointment.  
  3. 約束を忘れてはいけない。 You must not forget your promise.  
  4. 約束を破ってすみません。 I’m sorry for breaking my promise.  
  5. 約束の時間迄少し間がある。 I have a little time before the appointment.  
  6. 約束を忘れないでください。 Please don’t forget our promise.  
  7. 約束は守らなければならない。 You have to keep your promise.  
  8. 約束を破るなんて、無責任だ。 It’s irresponsible of you to break your promise.  
  9. デートの約束を忘れて、ごめん! I am sorry I forgot about our date.  
  10. 彼は私と再会の約束を交わした。 He and I promised that we’d meet again.  
  11. 約束は守らなければなりません。 You must keep your promises.
