Japanese Meaning of 遊び (asobi) | JLPT N4

Japanese Vocabulary: 遊び

Meaning: “play” or “recreation.”

Hobbies and leisure activities can also be included.

Examples:

  1. 公園へ遊びに行った。 I went to play at the park.  
  2. 新宿へ遊びに行きます。 I will go have fun in Shinjuku.  
  3. 明日、遊びに行かない。 Tomorrow I won’t go to play.  
  4. プールで遊びましょうか。 Shall we play in the pool?  
  5. 伯母の家に遊びに行った。 I went to visit my aunt.  
  6. 家に遊びにきてください。 Please come over to my home.  
  7. 家に遊びに来てください。 Please come over to my home.  
  8. 今日、従兄弟が遊びに来る。 Today, my cousin is coming to play.  
  9. 公園に遊びに行きたくない。 I don’t want to go play in the park.  
  10. 川に遊びに行った方がいい。 It would be better to go play at the river.  
  11. 日曜日に子供と遊びました。 I played with the children on Sunday.
