JLPT N2 Kanji: 了 (ryou) Meaning: complete; finish

  1. 本日の診療は終了しました Medical examinations have finished for today.  
  2. 課長から有給の了解を得た I got consent from the section manager for my paid holiday.  
  3. 車両の査定が終了しました The assessment of the vehicle is finished.  
  4. 一年生の課程を修了したの。 I completed the first-year curriculum.  
  5. 会議はもう終了致しました。 The meeting is already over.  
  6. 候補者の選定が終了しました The selection of candidates is over.  
  7. あとアウト二つで試合終了です The game will be finished after two “outs.”  
  8. 先月、そのコースを修了しました。 I completed the course last month.  
  9. データの送信が完了して、安心した。 I was relieved to have finished sending the data.  
  10. 去年、言語学の修士課程を修了した。 I finished a master’s course in linguistics last year.  
  11. 手続きの完了迄もう少しかかりそうだ。 It looks like it will take a little while until the process is completed.
