JLPT N2 Kanji: 虫 (chuu, ki, mushi) Meaning: insect; bug

  2. トムは本の虫だ。 Tom is a bookworm.  
  3. 毛虫が蝶になる。 The caterpillar becomes a butterfly.  
  4. 毛虫が蝶になった。 The caterpillar became a butterfly.  
  5. 畑に害虫が発生した There was an outbreak of harmful insects in the field.  
  6. 私は虫も殺せない。 I can’t even kill insects.  
  7. 毛虫が枝をはっている The caterpillar is creeping along the branch.  
  8. 虫が顔を拭いている。 The bug is cleaning its face.  
  9. 虫歯は予防できます。 Cavities can be prevented.  
  10. その虫は動物に寄生する This insect is parasitic to animals.  
  11. 庭でよく見かける虫だ。 It was a bug that I see a lot in my yard.
