“わけだ” is a Japanese grammar construct used to express explanations or reasons. In spoken Japanese and informal written Japanese, it is often translated as “because” or “for that reason.”

Examples:
- 雪が降ってきた。道理で寒いわけだ。 It’s started snowing! No wonder it’s so cold.
- 一本背負い投げとか、しちゃうわけだ。 So you do one-arm shoulder throws and stuff, huh?
- 英語理解できなかったら、会話が成立しないわけだから、仕事もできないわけだ。
