must / have to

The speaker uses this phrase if something needs to be done or must be done.

Form :

V(ナイ形)ない + ければならない

Examples:

  1. 約束は守らなければならない。 You have to keep your promise.  
  2. ゴミを削減しなければならない。 We must reduce the amount of waste.  
  3. 尊敬語を使わなければならない。 I have to use honorific language.  
  4. 法律には従わなければならない。 You must obey the law.  
  5. 私たちは話さなければならない。 We have to talk.  
  6. 何か対策を考えなければならない。 We must consider some measures.  
  7. 毎年税金を払わなければならない。 Every year we have to pay tax.  
  8. 消防士は勇敢でなければならない。 Fire fighters must be brave.  
  9. 議会の承認を得なければならない。 The approval of the assembly is required.  
  10. 身体を大事にしなければならない。 One must take good care of oneself.
