いつも (itsumo) is a Japanese adverb that means “always” or “every time.” It is often used to indicate that something happens regularly or consistently.

Form

いつも + Verb

For example:

  1. いつも朝ご飯を食べる。I always eat breakfast.
  1. いつも同じ時間に起きる。I always wake up at the same time.
  1. いつも忙しい。 I am always busy.
  1. いつもありがとう。 Thank you, as always.

いつも can also be used to contrast with a specific time or situation. For example:

  1. 今日はいつもと違う。 Today is different from usual.
  1. いつもはゆっくりするのに、今日は急いでいる。 

I usually take my time, but today I am in a hurry.
