JLPT N5 Grammar: から (kara) Learn Japanese

Japanese grammar is an essential part of learning the Japanese language. It is the set of rules that govern the way words are combined to form sentences in the Japanese language. Japanese grammar is known for its complex system of particles, which are small words that are added to the end of nouns or verbs to indicate the grammatical function of the word in the sentence. In this post, We will talk about から

から (kara) is a crucial element of the Japanese language that is used to indicate a starting point or origin. It is often translated as “from” in English, and is used in a variety of contexts.

For example, you can use から to express that you are going somewhere from a particular location:

学校 から 家まで 歩 いて 行 く (I will walk from school to home).

You can also use it to describe the view from a particular place: この マンションから 市内 を 見 ことができる (You can see the city from this apartment).

But that’s not all! から is also used to express “because” or “since” in certain contexts.

For example: 先生 (せんせい) は 病気から 来 ないと 言 っています

(The teacher says he won’t come because he is sick).

As you can see, から is a versatile and important particle in Japanese that you will encounter frequently as you learn the language. So don’t be afraid to dive in and start using it in your own Japanese sentences!

から (kara) is a particle in Japanese that is used to indicate a starting point or origin.

東京から 大阪 まで 電車 で 行 (い) く (I will go from Tokyo to Osaka by train)

Here is an example sentence using から to express “because”:

彼 は 仕事が 忙しいから、 明日に 会えないよ。 (He is busy with work, so we can’t meet tomorrow.)
