Download BASIC KANJI BOOK VOL.1 500 PDF

Japanese has three writing scripts, one of which is kanji. Another two common writing systems are hiragana and katakana. Reading and writing Japanese words can be made easier by using kanji. The Japanese language relies heavily on kanji for communicating names, grammar, and concepts.

Kanji can also help you distinguish where a word ends from where another begins. Japanese people write without spaces and use a few punctuation marks. To read without kanji, you can only use children’s books that have spaces and furigana.

If a sentence is written without kanji, the words will appear as if they are grouped together. As a result, you will have difficulty reading or writing Japanese if you do not know kanji.

BASIC KANJI BOOK VOL.1 500 PDF

Basic Kanji Book Vol. 1 is a popular kanji textbook used both in classrooms and for self-study. In just over half an hour, you’ll be learning to read, write, and use 500 key kanji. In total, the book introduces 251 characters in a pioneering and systematic manner.

A game-changing approach to learning kanji

Foreign learners’ kanji study was slow and inefficient before this book was published in 1989. Vol. 1 of The Basic Kanji Book. A change in all that Basic 500 Kanji brought about. Unlike earlier kanji study programs that instructed students to memorize each character as they encountered it, this book’s creators created a systematized yet easy-to-follow learning method that introduces each character’s origins, then demonstrates how these combine to make common words. Beyond the 251 kanji presented in this book, the student also learns how to deduce the meanings of further kanji by analyzing the radicals from which they are formed by gaining an understanding of how all but the simplest kanji are made up of multiple smaller characters known as radicals.
