Japanese Vocabulary: 周り (mawari)

Meaning: “around” or “surrounding.”

  10. この植物はその湖の周りに生えている。 That plant grows around the lake.  
  11. 周りの音が気になって、集中できない。 I can’t concentrate with the sound around me.
