“間” can be used to indicate a duration of time. 

For example:

2時間間、テレビを見ました。」

I watched TV for 2 hours.

“間” can indicate a range or space between two things. 

For example:

部屋の間に本棚があります。

There is a bookshelf between the rooms.

“間” can indicate a pause or break in something. 

For example:

今日は一日間、お休みします。

I will take a break for the day today.

“間” can indicate the time around an event or occurrence. 

For example:

先週の間に彼女と会いました。

I met her sometime during last week.
