JLPT N5 Grammar: にする (ni suru) Meaning

JLPT N5 Grammar: にする (ni suru) Meaning

The Japanese particle “に” (ni) is used to indicate the direction or target of an action, and the verb “する” (suru) is used to indicate that an action is being done. 

Together, “にする” (ni suru) indicates that an action is being done in order to make something into a certain state.

  8. 神道では先祖を大切にします。 In Shintoism we worship our ancestors.  
  9. 彼女は見た目をすごく気にします She worries terribly about how she looks.  
  10. 私は日本の伝統を大切にします。 I value Japanese traditions. 
  11. 東京駅までだったら、渋滞にさえ巻き込まれなければ、20分くらいで着きますよ。 To Tokyo Station? As long as you don’t get hung up in traffic, you’ll arrive in about 20 minutes.
