Best way to memorize hiragana and katakana
Hiragana and katakana are two fundamental writing systems of the Japanese language. Although there are numerous methods for memorizing the characters of these Japanese writing scripts, the best way involves associating every character with a picture that it resembles.
Notably, the resemblance between the character and the picture can be quite obvious or vague. As long as you can remember the picture, it will be easy for you to remember the associated hiragana or katakana character. In addition, you should use the sound of the letter to remember it.
A good example is this hiragana character: き (ki). If you look at this hiragana character closely, you will notice that it resembles a KEY. When pronounced, the character also sounds like a key. If you can associate the character with this obvious visual image, you will not have any challenge with remembering it when necessary.
You should note that this method relies on the active recall process. Notably, active recall pushes you more to remember something that you have learned.
